Position: Engineering Technician
Location: Fernie, BC (Relocation required)
Wage: Negotiable, based on experience and skills
Are you passionate about land development and ready to take on new challenges in the beautiful Fernie, BC? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support land development projects through site assessments, surveying, and data collection.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment or demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and layouts.
- Lead/Assist in permits, subdivision, and zoning applications
- Help coordinate projects of different size and complexity
- Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Conduct field inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, GPS, etc.) or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles related to land development.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
